EASY-nLC 1200 Nano-HPLC
Proteomics samples in modern shot gun proteomics approaches are subject to analysis in online coupled liquid chromatography- mass spectrometry instrumentations (LC-MS/MS). In order to make the samples ready for shot gun proteomics analyses, proteome samples are digested first with enzymes to yield defined, complex peptide mixtures. Subsequently, the digested samples are first trapped/ desalted and then resolved according to hydrophobicity on reversed phase chromatographic columns in a binary gradient in liquid chromatography (LC) systems. The resolved eluting peptides are then analysed via high resolution/ mass accurate mass spectrometry.
With the support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) it was possible to acquire a nano-HPLC System for the mass spectrometric analysis of complex peptide samples generated in proteomics approaches. The LC- System will be used within the frame of extramurally funded research projects of applied sciences as well as in direct cooperations with industrial partners.
